Bubba-N-Friends

Bunky was being particularly cute...and Bubba got to be cute with him:

When Dad was a kid, Grandma and Grandpa used to give him cheese or bologna and cheese sandwiches for lunch.

As a kid, Dad wasn't particular fond of bologna, and did not like those "individually wrapped processed cheese food" slices at all, so, more ofthen than not, Dad would hide those sandwiches.  They'd wind up behind the refrigerator or under the basement steps.

Well, today, Dad got his just desserts.

Today, Dad and Bubba were at Barnes and Noble, when they ran into another Philly area fan who just moved to the Indy area from the King of Prussia area.

They got talking, and Dad asked him if he'd be interested in joining a listserv for Philly fans in the Indy area.

He thought that would be cool, so Dad finally took that as the impetus to go ahead and build the list.

So, if anyone else who lives in the Indianapolis area is a fan of Philadelphia Sports teams, and would like a place to talk about 'em, find ways to get together for games and such...feel free to join the email list by visiting the Indy Area Philly Fans Mailing List Info Page and follow the instructions to sign up.

Well, here we go again.

The Bubban-N-Friends family is embarking on yet another renovation project.

In this case, as we need an additional room in which to put Bunky, once he's old enough to have his own room, we're undertaking the following project:

• Bubba's current room will have a wall installed, creating a hallway between the room and his current closet.
• A closet will be built in that room, along the new wall.
• The current closet will be converted into a full bathroom, for the kids to use.
• Two new bedrooms (with closets), as well as two additional storage closets, will be built over the garage.

Construction begins tomorrow, with the demolition of the garage's current ceiling/roof structure.

We'll post updates, with pictures, as the project moves along.

The roof came off the garage, today.

Today, some support structure was added for the new floor.

Today saw the demolition of Bubba's closet, and the installation of the floor joist.

Today, the electricians came in to rerun the electrical, phone and cable wiring through the garage. 

All that wire used to be in the attic above the garage but, since we removed the roof/attic, and are putting in a floor, the wires needed to be re-run through the floor supports.

While that was going on, the floor got pulled up in the closet, and sewer line run for the various drains.

Today, the walls were framed, the double window in Bubba's room was replaced with a single window, and copper pipes for plumbing were run.

Today, the interior walls for the rooms and closets went up, and the roof trusses went up, too.

Dad wound up helping, a little bit...the guys needed an extra pair of hands to get the trusses up to the second floor.

Dad worked muscles that he'd forgotten he ever had!!!  :-D

The roof decking, tar paper, and panels went up  today.
